Welcome
I’m an experienced, professional instructional designer, with a passion for understanding how people think and learn. I’m able to use my expertise and passion to create engaging, learner-centered experiences for companies and organizations that desire a customized solution to fit their needs.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with specializations in Business and Education. I also have a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in Reading and English as a Second Language. My educational background gives me the insight that I need to understand business solutions, as well as how to best educate stakeholders in how to be as effective in their roles as possible.
During my career in education, I acquired many skills that will enhance my ability to develop effective eLearning experiences, as well as the ability to reach all learners with engaging instruction. As I worked with an extremely diverse group of students, I developed a unique ability to determine the needs of individual learners, and adapt instruction to meet those needs. I have trained adults and high school students, as well as children, and have found that I am able to connect with any age group and enjoy determining and meeting their educational needs.
I began my training in instructional design through LinkedIn Learning, and have continued my learning through Devlin Peck’s courses in Articulate Storyline. This has provided me with advanced skills in Storyline, as well as the ADDIE process, and the unique needs of adult learners in the workplace. I have also read extensively about adult learning theory, and the ways in which their educational needs differ from those of children. I am also in the process of becoming skilled in Adobe Suite, Vyond and Canva, and am developing design skills. I am able to apply these skills in designing eLearning courses that are both professional and engaging. The SMEs I have worked with have been impressed with my skills and insight. I am excited about the successful launch of my career in instructional design.
